기차는 두 개의 철로 위를 달린다. 우리 주님의 은혜의 복음도 초림과 재림이라는 두 개의 선로 위에 달리고 있다. 이 두개의 선로는 기차가 종착지까지, 즉 주님의 구원사역이 완결되어지는 데까지 가기 위해서는 반드시 함께 가야 한다. 이 입문을 통해 우리는 왜 마지막 떼에 일어날 일들에 대한 것들이 역사학적, 해석학적으로 뒷전에 밀려 있었는지를 살펴볼 것이다. 먼저 용어들을 공부한 후, 마지막때의 예언에 흔히 의례 등장하는 상징과 은유, 숫자들에 대해서 조심스런 분석을 가할 것이다. 여기서 가장 중요한 원칙은 성경으로 하여금 성경을 해석하도록 해야 하며, 기록된 글을 떠나지 말아야 하며 억측을 해서는 안되다는 점이다. 또한 하나님은 일시를 정하셨는가 하는 점과 왜 그러한 관점이 비성경적인가를 살펴볼 것이다.
