ANY CHURCH CAN EFFECTIVELY ADOPT AND REACH AN UNREACHED PEOPLE WITH AUDIO GOSPEL RECORDINGS ARE INVOLVED, whether the church is large or small.
Most of the worlds UNREACHED people are small in population they will not have Christian Radio or TV in their language.
THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO REACH THEM FOR CHRIST and that is by way of their EARS. They must hear the Gospel from a missionary who goes and learns their language of by way of a Gospel Recording that already speaks their language. Evangelistic Gospel Recording are now available in 4,679 languages and dialects which is twice the number with any Scripture in print.
I will give you two unusual but true stories of what other churches have accomplished:
ONE REQUIRES ONLY PAPER, and is suitable for a church from the economically poorest area.
ONE REQUIRES PRAYER Plus a SHORT TERM TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS TO ACTUALLY REACH AND UNREACHED PEOPLE IN 1HEIR OWN LANGUAGE BYWAY OF GOSPEL RECORDINGS.
Gospel Recordings was a Founder of the Adopt a People plan about 15 years age before it became popular in missions. Gospel Recordings would select a people for PRAYER that it seemed no one would reach unless God took control A humanly impossible tribe to reach.
In April 1985 Gospel Recordings Director visited PARK STREET CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH in Boston, which is a very old and missionary minded church in the USA. In their missions convention he was assigned to speak to the PACERS class of children about 13, 14 or 15 years old. He told them about a tribe of the Brazilian Amazon jungles called the KREEN-AKORE. They immediately began to ask questions. He told them there are only about 85 Kreen-Akrores left. There was
no missionary contact with them because "outsiders" are prohibited from that part of the jungle. And they have no Scriptures.
They listened carefully and by the end of the week, they had collected eight copies of the National Geographic Magazine which had pictures of the Kreen-Akores.
About a year later Gospel Recordings Director was in Brasilia the capital of Brazil. While there he had lunch with a missionary who worked with the Kayapo tribe of Brazil She commented, "one of the Kayapos tribes favorite sports is to crush in the heads of the Kreen-Akrores". He was instantly attentive. She told him that "Kreen-Akore" is not the tribes name for itself, but rather a bad name for them that means "Round Heads".
She went on to say, last year the chief of the Kreen-Akore brought his daughter to the hospital in Brasilia. She was desperately ill and the chief said "if my daughter dies, I am going to kill10 white people here in this hospital". The hospital staff was nervous. The chief’s daughter had meningitis. She was already in a coma and could be expected to live no more than a couple of days. And then ... they went into the girl's room and she was completely
well!
Gospel Recording Director asked the missionary, "When did all this occur?" She replied last April He was shocked. It was the very same time that Sunday School Class of 13, 14 & 15 year old children began praying. He felt like the Apostle Paul returning from his first missionary trip. He wrote to the Sunday School Class in Boston. When they received it the kids prayed and prayed and could hardly stay in their seats.
So in that day when some from every tribe will be gathered in heaven (Rev 5:9) we would like to think that the Lord will say of the children from that class, "See these KreenAkore that you prayed for."
THAT IS WHAT YOU CHURCH MAY DO THROUGH PRAYER ALONE FOR AN UNREACHED TRIBE.
ARE YOU PREPARED FOR YOUR CHURCH TO FOLLOW YOUR PRAYER WITH ACTION FOR YOUR ADOPTED or TARGET PEOPLE?
Here is another true story. There is a tribe in the northern part of GHANA that was without any Christian witness. A concerned missionary discovered that in each village of this unreached tribe there was a BLIND SINGER This blind singer was a respected elder who would sing each night around the fire and sing of all the history and traditions of the tribe.
So the missionary went to each village and gave the BLIND SINGER a handwound cassette player made by Gospel Recordings, along with the evangelistic Gospel Recording in that language.
The blind mans prestige or respect went even higher than before because now he had this electronic instrument. So he would play the Gospel Recording, and then he would SING the message himself that he had just played on the cassette. In this way churches began in each one of the villages of that tribe that before had no Christians at all.
IF YOU WILL FOLLOW YOUR PRAYERS FOR YOUR ADOPTED PEOPLE WTIH ACTION, WE WILL MAKE YOU GOSPEL RECORDINGS IN THEIR LANGUAGE. (GOSPEL RECORDING MAY HAVE BEEN MADE ALREADY SINCE THEY ARE IN 4,679 LANGUAGES right now). WE WILL THEN GNE YOU 1HESE RECORDINGS. 1HEN a TEAM FROM YOUR CHURCH CAN VISIT 1HE VILLAGES OF YOUR AOOPTED TRIBE AND LEAVE A CASSETTE PLAYER AND A GOSPEL RECORDING IN EACH VILLAGE. (The cassette player will need to be left with a responsible chief,
Mayor or Elder to keep there from being a fight and riot over who is going to get to have the Gospel Recording next. In one village in Indonesia the Chief said that each family could have if for only 2 hours before they passed it onto their next door neighbor. That Gospel Recordings cassette was played day and night for the next 6 months).
Because AUDIO GOSPEL RECORDINGS ARE A NECESSITY FOR 2 BILLION ILLITERATES MANY MORE RECORDING TEAMS ARE NEEDED.
1992 ESTIMATES place the count of illiterates very close to 2 BILLION, rising to 2,400,000,000 by AD2000. Calculations show that slightly over 1/2 of the world's adult population is illiterate. These illiterate multitudes are often the least reached with the Gospel.
WITHOUT EMPHASIS ON AUDIO RECORDINGS THE PROBLEM GROWS
• The United Nations called the 1980's "THE LOST DECADE" because illiteracy increased.
• The 35 poorest nations of the world decreased their education budget25%.
• In Zaire even before the civil war 20% of the teachers were fired.
• In Ghana with a reported 36% literacy many unqualified village teachers hold school for only 1 or 2 hours a day.
• In Benin the schools have been closed for several years as a corrupt government as used all the EDUCATION money for personal gain.
THE EFFECT OF ILLITERACY ON SCRIPTURE USE IS OBVIOUS .. .NONE ARE READ!
• Many Scripture translations completed by Wycliffe & Others in Brazil 10 or 15 years ago, today have only 1% who can read. For 99% it is like the translation was NEVER made! This situation is not limited to Brazil.
• Societies that are ORAL, without a previously written form, accept the Scriptures best IF introduced via AUDIO PRECEDING written form.
• Many Societies much PREFER AUDIO SCRIPTURES only and have little or no interest in learning to read their own language. Example the BLACKFOOT Indians of North America.
With 70 more recording teams we could make Gospel Recordings in every language of the world before the end of the year 2000 AD. You are needed to make this happen. A recordist team is usually 2 single men or 2 single women. Or a couple without small children. Will you help evangelize the unreached illiterates in this way then contact us.
