HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU TRANSIATEAN UNWRRITEN LANGUAGE?
(A graphic presentation using transparencies / overhead 45 minutes, plus 15 minute for question)

1. THE NEED FOR TRANSIATION

1) 6,628 language in use in the world today (Source: ETHNOLOGUE, Catalogue of World's Languages, Sept.1993)
2) Over 3,000 languages without God's Word: 7-8% of the world's population, some 300-400 million people.

2. THE TOOLS FOR TRANSLATION

1) Phonology - Study of sound systems, alphabets (illustrated with sounds distinct from English and other alphabets from around the world)
2) Grammar - Study of language structure and composition (illustrated with actual field problem from Brazil)
3) Literacy - Teaching to read and write (illustrated by learning to read English with new alphabet)
4) Anthropology - Cultural considerations.
5) Translation problems (illustrations)
