Daniel Bacon / U.S. Director of Overseas Missionary Fellowship(OMF)

Dr. Bacon is the U.S. Director of Overseas Missionary Fellowship(OMF) in Robesonia. Pennsylvania. Dr. Bacon is a graduate from Multnomah School of the Bible and Dallas Theological Seminary. He earned his doctorate in Missiology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of World Mission and Evangelism in 1983. In 1975 Dr. Bacon was appointed the Assistant Overseas Director of OMF in Singapore. This role involved ministry to all OMFers serving in the fellowship’s nine Asian fields. Dr. Bacon also lectures at a number of Bible colleges as well as being an adjunct faculty member at Columbia Bible College.

INTRO:

I. The Challenge of Today’s Asia

a. Asia today poses the greatest missionary challenge to the church to the church worldwide.

II. Open Doors and Obstacles

a. The challenge of Asia’s cities.
b. The challenge of creative access nations.
c. The challenge of Islam.
d. The challenge of the Asian Diaspora.
e. The challenge of the Asian church. 

III. What is needed?

a. Committed missionaries are needed.
b. Servant missionaries are also needed.
c. What will missionaries do when they get there?
d. The church at home must mobilize resources for missionaries.

CONCLUSION:

All across Asia, the Church of Jesus Christ can be found. But as the economic power of Asia increases, how will it affect the spread of the Gospel / The question that needs to be asked is “What god will Asians serve - the god of materialism and secularism or the Creator who loves them?”
